Turn
Function
“Tilt” refers to a specific opening mode in tilt and turn windows. This allows the top of the window to swing inward, creating a narrow opening at the top for ventilation while maintaining security and weatherproofing. This is different from the “turn” mode, where the window swings inward like a casement window.
The handle is turned to a specific position (usually 90 degrees horizontally) and the window pivots inward from the top, allowing for controlled ventilation.

Energy
Efficiency
Modern European style windows are known for their energy efficiency due to their multi-chambered uPVC profiles and advanced glazing options. These features help minimize heat transfer, resulting in lower energy consumption for heating and cooling, reduced utility bills, and a smaller carbon footprint. They can achieve a U-value as low as 0.13, and their designs contribute to maintaining comfortable indoor temperatures year-round.
Durability
Windows from European profiles and hardware are known for their durability, stemming from their high-quality materials and robust construction. They have
- multi-chambered profiles,
- reinforced frames,
- high-quality gaskets
So, they are designed to withstand various weather conditions, resist warping, cracking, and swelling, and are also resistant to rust and corrosion. Their long lifespan and low maintenance requirements further contribute to their reputation for durability. Our windows are designed to last for many years, with a projected lifespan of at least 40 years.
Low
Maintenance
Our uPVC windows are designed to be low maintenance. Regular cleaning with mild soap and water is usually sufficient to keep them looking their best. Occasional lubrication of moving parts like hinges and tracks may also be needed.
- Use a soft cloth or sponge with lukewarm water and a mild soap or washing-up liquid.
- For heavily soiled frames, a specialized cleaning agent can be used.
- Do not use steel wool, abrasive cleaners, or strong solvents, as these can damage the uPVC.
- Use a glass cleaner and a soft cloth or squeegee, ensuring to clean both the inside and outside of the panes.
Sound
Insulation
Our windows offer excellent sound insulation through a combination of design features and installation practices. Their uPVC profiles, with multi-chamber construction and high-quality gaskets, ensure a tight seal to minimize noise penetration. High-performance glazing options, including double or triple-paned glass and laminated glass, further reduce noise levels. Correct installation, including proper sealing of the window and wall connection, is crucial for achieving optimal sound reduction.
Performance
The glass-fiber reinforcement, which is firmly integrated into the profile during the extrusion process, ensures stability in the sash. This means that steel can be dispensed with, which improves the thermal insulation value enormously

Sustainability of Tilt and Turn Windows
Tilt and turn windows are eco-friendly, featuring recyclable materials and energy-efficient production. Their durability reduces waste, making them ideal for green building projects while lowering the carbon footprint.
Eco-Friendly Materials
- Recyclable uPVC Frames: 100% recyclable, reusable up to 10 times.
- Low Environmental Impact: Less landfill waste, energy-efficient production.
Long Lifespan
- Lasts 30+ years with minimal maintenance.
- Resistant to warping, rotting, and corrosion, reducing replacements.
Sustainable Certifications
- LEED & BREEAM Compatible – Green building standards.
Easy Maintenance & Cleaning
Tilt and turn windows are designed for effortless upkeep and durability. Their inward-opening function allows full access to both interior and exterior glass, making cleaning simple—especially for upper-story windows. This design eliminates the need for ladders or exterior access while enabling thorough cleaning of the frame, hinges, and seals.
Inward Opening Design: Provides full access to both interior and exterior glass.
Ideal for Upper Floors: No need for ladders or exterior access.
Low Maintenance: Requires minimal effort to keep clean and durable.
Thorough Cleaning: Easily access frames, hinges, and seals.
Security & Multi-Point Hardware
Tilt and turn windows with multi-point hardware offer top-tier security, making them an excellent choice for both residential and commercial applications.
What is Multi-Point Hardware?
Multi-point hardware is an advanced locking system that secures a window at multiple points along the frame. Unlike traditional windows with one or two locks, tilt and turn windows use multiple locking points for enhanced security and durability.
Key Security Components
- Espagnolette Locking System: Moves bolts into the frame for secure locking.
- Mushroom Head Locking Points: Bolts engage reinforced striker plates for better security.
- Reinforced Hinges: Heavy-duty hinges resist tampering.
- Tilt Restrictors: Prevent over-tilting for added stability.
Benefits of Multi-Point Hardware
- Superior Security: Multiple locks resist forced entry, with optional key-locking handles.
- Durability: Even pressure distribution prevents warping, ensuring long-term reliability.
